Manuelle manipulatorer giver brugeren fordelen af en taktil fornemmelse for lasten ved positionering.
Disse løfteløsninger kræver, at brugeren har nem adgang til løfteværktøjet, når lasten skal håndteres. I tilfælde hvor dette ikke er muligt, f.eks. når der skal løftes til en højde, hvor adgangen er begrænset, er elektriske manipulatorer at foretrække.
